Microsoft Cognitive - Overview

Microsoft Cognitive Services (formerly Project Oxford) are a set of APIs, SDKs and services available to developers to make their applications more intelligent, engaging and discoverable. Microsoft Cognitive Services expands on MS machine learning APIs and enables developers to easily add intelligent features –

1. Vision - Understand Images and Videos
• Computer Vision API
• Face API
• Emotion API
2. Speech - Hear & Speak, Identify Speakers, Understand Intent
• Speaker Recognition API
3. Language - Process Text & Learn
4. Knowledge - Tap into rich knowledge gathered from various sources 
5. Search - Access billion of Web Pages, Images, Videos, News using BingAPIs.

All such APIs in Cognitive Services are hosted on a growing network of Microsoft-managed data centers. You can find the regional availability for each API in Azure region list.
